The U.S. Senate has confirmed Pam Bondi as the Attorney General of the United States, with a final vote of 54 to 46, CNN reported.
Bondi, a former Florida Attorney General, was Trump’s second nominee for the position after Matt Gaetz withdrew due to lack of support among Republican senators.
Her nomination was approved last week by the Senate Judiciary Committee in a narrow 12-10 vote, CNN noted.

During her confirmation hearing, Bondi criticized the “politicization” of the Department of Justice under former President Joseph Biden’s administration and stated that she would not abuse criminal investigations.
Bondi is known for her conservative stance in court cases and her decades-long career in the legal system.
During the 2016 presidential campaign, she was one of Trump’s key allies in Florida.
After leaving her position as Florida Attorney General in 2019, Bondi worked for Ballard Partners, a firm closely associated with Trump and his chief of staff, Susie Wiles.
