Young Anđela Vasilijević from Čačak recently completed her master’s degree at the prestigious “Queen Mary” University in London in a folk costume, and the ducats that adorned her neck carried special symbolism.
Her aunt, Prof. Dr. Vesna Dimitrijević Srećković, boasted on Facebook and published a video.

-A Serbian woman like the heroines from our national history, grounded in love for her identity and homeland, went to the solemn diploma and awards ceremony in Serbian folk costume and opanci from Zlakusa (“Terzića avlija”, “Ethno society”, “Homeland”), and around her neck she wore a necklace with five ducats on which five Nemanjić endowments protected by UNESCO were engraved: Žiča, Studenica, Hilandar, Dečani, and Gračanica. Happy and God-blessed for many years to come! – wrote Dr. Dimitrijević Srećković.
