The prestigious portal “The Athletic” conducted an interesting survey during the All-Star weekend in Los Angeles, polling more than 30 NBA players about the current state of the league.

The results once again confirmed what many basketball fans already know – Nikola Jokić is the undisputed ruler of world basketball in the eyes of his colleagues.

The Serbian center convincingly took victory in the voting for the best player in the league with five points won. Behind him was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with three points, while third place was shared by Luka Dončić and Donovan Mitchell with two points each.

A particularly interesting fact, which surprised many, is that none of the surveyed players gave a vote to legendary aces like LeBron James and Steph Curry.

Jokić, who is playing at an incredible level this season and averaging a triple-double performance of 28.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 10.7 assists, received numerous praises from his rivals.

Norman Powell pointed out that he is fascinated by the ease with which Nikola scores points and how much he means to his team, while Jalen Johnson added that Jokić’s dominance, which has lasted for years, is simply impressive.

In addition to the question about the best player, the basketball players also spoke about the greatest challenges they face, with injuries being identified as the main problem of today’s NBA league.

In a slightly more relaxed part of the survey, the players also chose the best podcast, and the victory there was taken by former Atlanta, Minnesota, and Boston basketball player Jeff Teague, whose stories have become a real hit among colleagues.
