Serbian wrestler Aleksandar Komarov won the gold medal at the World Championship in Zagreb in the Greco–Roman style up to 87 kg category, defeating Iranian Alireza Mohmadipani in the final with a score of 4:3.
On the way to the title, Komarov recorded several key victories: in the first round, he beat Soha Sakabe from Japan 5:3, then in the round of 16, he defeated Peyton Jacobson from the USA 5:1, while in the quarterfinals he was better than Islam Yevloyev from Kazakhstan.

In the semifinals, he surpassed Russian competitor Milad Alizrayev, which led him to the final showdown with Mohmadipani.
Komarov, a native of Saint Petersburg, has been competing for Serbia since 2023, when he received confirmation from the Russian federation that he could compete for our country.
Last year he won gold at the European Championship in Bucharest, and in the same hall he won bronze in 2024. This success in Zagreb further confirms his status as one of the best wrestlers in the world in his category.
