The park in front of the Royal Exhibition Building was chosen for the traditional photo shoot of the Australian Open champion, and at exactly 11 a.m., Carlos Alcaraz appeared walking across the lawn with the Norman Brookes Trophy in his hands.

After several characteristic poses, questions from the media followed, and the Spaniard spoke calmly, sincerely, and without euphoria.

“I didn’t do anything special after the final and the ceremony. I was quite exhausted. I met with the team, my father and my brother, and went to sleep sometime around two o’clock,” Alcaraz revealed.

The title in Melbourne has special emotional significance for Carlos.

“This is the realization of a big dream for me. Only my team and family know what I went through to reach this trophy. I’m proud of that fact, and this success is a huge motivation for everything that comes next,” Alcaraz said.

He also revealed that he received congratulations personally from Rafa Nadal, whom he briefly saw after the match.

Alcaraz spoke once again about the kangaroo tattoo he plans as a souvenir of the title in Australia.

“I still haven’t decided on the place for the tattoo. In fact, I haven’t even really ‘gotten to know’ a kangaroo yet. I hope I’ll have many opportunities for that here in the future,” he said with a smile.

Asked how much Novak Djokovic is an inspiration to him, Alcaraz was very clear.

“He is the best example that when you truly want something, no one can stop you. I’m not thinking about whether I’ll play tennis at 38, but what Novak is proving is fascinating — that he can compete at the highest level. That is truly inspiring,” the Spaniard said about his final opponent.

Alcaraz did not hide how much he enjoys staying in Australia.

“I love coming here. Everything suits me in this wonderful city, especially the great golf courses, which I truly enjoy,” he added, not forgetting his favorite hobby.

Asked how much it means to him that he has become the youngest winner of the Career Grand Slam, Alcaraz remained firmly grounded.

“I’m proud to have achieved it at this age, but even more because I’m now in the company of legends of our sport. Predictions that I could win all four Grand Slams in one year are big words. My goal is to work hard, keep improving, and be competitive at the Masters, Grand Slams, Davis Cup, and all the most important competitions,” concluded the new Australian Open champion.
