ALCARAZ IS THE CHAMPION! Spaniard steamrolls Sinner in the US Open final for his sixth Grand Slam title and the number one spot on the ATP list (VIDEO)

Carlos Alcaraz deserved the title in New York! In a major final that was delayed by more than half an hour due to the arrival of Donald Trump, the US president, he defeated his biggest rival at the moment, Jannik Sinner, 6:2, 3:6, 6:1, 6:4, and reached his second title in the Big Apple.

In their head-to-head matches, Alcaraz is better with ten victories, while Sinner has won five times. This was Alcaraz’s eighth consecutive ATP final since April of this year, and Sinner and Alcaraz are playing their third straight Grand Slam final.

No doubt about it: Carlos Alcaraz is currently the best tennis player in the world. He proved it in the big final of the last Grand Slam of the season, and from Monday, September 8, he will have official confirmation on the ATP list as he returns to the top of the tennis caravan. Jannik Sinner, who was the reigning US Open champion, had no chance against Carlitos, who reached his sixth career Grand Slam title this week.

You know those matches where you know the opponent has no chance, no matter if they play “until tomorrow”? Well, that was the match between Alcaraz and Sinner in the final. The Spaniard was brilliant from the very start and immediately made it clear to the Italian that after Roland Garros this year, he would also take the title from the New York Slam “right in front of his nose.”

The first set began with a break by Alcaraz, and it was clear who would dictate everything in this match. The Spaniard played brilliantly, solid as a rock from the baseline, and didn’t let Jannik “spread his wings,” even though it was clear that Sinner would definitely raise his level of play as the match progressed.

In the first set, the Spaniard made two breaks, and this was just a prelude to another spectacle that the two best players on the planet had prepared for us. It was especially important for Carlos to impose his tempo from the baseline and to be the one to win the longer rallies, and he succeeded in that.

The second set brought a brief awakening for Jannik Sinner, but it was very short-lived, practically lasting only for that set.
