A group of students advocating for educational reform in Serbia has announced plans to initiate a hunger strike if their demands are not met by Sunday, June 1. The group, known as “Students 2.0,” is calling for the resumption of university classes and the protection of their constitutional rights.

Miloš Pavlović, a medical student at the University of Belgrade and a representative of the group, stated that the students have exhausted all other avenues and are left with no choice but to escalate their protest. He emphasized that their actions are a response to the government’s failure to address their concerns.

The students’ three primary demands are:

  1. The immediate resumption of classes at all universities in Serbia.
  2. The initiation of legal and disciplinary actions against individuals who have obstructed their constitutional rights, including access to education and freedom of movement.
  3. An end to what they describe as fascist attacks and threats against students who are advocating for their right to education.

Pavlović clarified that the group is not affiliated with any political party and that their movement is solely focused on educational issues. He expressed their commitment to remaining in Pionirski Park, where they have been camping for several months, until their demands are addressed.
