After the last round of qualifications, all participants of the European Men’s Handball Championship, which will be held next year in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, are known.

24 teams, including Serbia, will participate in the competition, which will be held from January 15th to February 1st, 2026.

With a victory over Italy in the last round of qualifications, the “Eagles” secured their place at the Euro, where they will want to improve on their performance from the previous championship.

In addition to Serbia, the championship will feature North Macedonia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, France, Austria, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, Czech Republic, Faroe Islands, Netherlands, Hungary, Iceland, Georgia, Portugal, Montenegro, Spain, Ukraine, Switzerland, Romania, and Italy.

The Italians, Swiss, Romanians, and Ukrainians qualified as the best third-placed teams.

At the previous tournament, Serbia finished its participation in the first phase with three defeats in three matches.

The “Eagles” should be led at the championship by Raul Gonzalez, who will succeed Dalibor Čutura.

The draw for the formation of the groups will be held on May 15th.

Our handball players are in the fourth pot, which also includes Georgia, Switzerland, Romania, Ukraine, and Italy.

In the first pot will be France, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Hungary, and Slovenia, while the second pot includes Portugal, Norway, Iceland, Croatia, Spain, and the Faroe Islands.

In the third pot will be Austria, Netherlands, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Poland, and North Macedonia.

The EHF announced that at EURO 2026, the national teams will be divided into six groups of four teams each, and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the next stage of the competition.

The EHF reminded that it is already known that Germany will play in Group A (Herning), while Denmark will be in Group B, which will also be played in Herning. Norway’s handball players will be in Group C in Oslo, and the Faroe Islands in Group D (also Oslo). Sweden is in Group E in Malmö, and Iceland will play their matches in Group F in Kristianstad.
