A new citizens’ protest is underway in Novi Sad, demanding accountability for the collapse of the canopy at the Railway Station, in which 14 people died on November 1st. Only citizens and activists who protested on November 5th have been arrested in connection with the incident. The blockade of the intersection in front of the Railway Station, as previously announced by activists from the Stav and SviĆe organizations, will last from 12 noon to 6 pm.
They added that, since the regime has not yet responded to the demands made, “the pressure continues to be gradually increased with barricades.” Jelena Stupljanin spoke at the gathering, and Marko Šelić Marčelo is expected to address the citizens. Due to the accident, which many call a crime and a mass murder, protests have been organized in Novi Sad and Belgrade, and during the demonstrations, citizens and activists who participated in the mass protest in Novi Sad on November 5th were arrested.

Jelena Stupljanin: We are standing on a grave, and they won’t even let us mourn the victims
“Dear citizens, how are you? I’m terrible, we’re all terrible. It’s awful, sad, miserable, wretched, we’re angry and outraged. Desperate, because we are standing on a grave, and they won’t let us mourn the people who died here. The children who died here, because they won’t let us talk about it. Whoever starts talking about it is intimidated, is arrested. And even if they arrest us all, those responsible for it face no consequences. Will we let them convince us that this is the new reality? That’s why we’re here today. We feel nailed down and they want to convince us that it’s normal. But we are normal, and they are crazy, man!” said actress Jelena Stupljanin.
