25,000 DOLLARS IN 12 HOURS: Diaspora Organized Fundraising for Trucker Milomir Jaćimović!

In less than 12 hours, the diaspora raised over 25,000 US dollars for trucker Milomir Jaćimović.

On the platform gofundme.com, the diaspora is collecting money for the trucker who was arrested yesterday along with his son, after he attempted to harm himself due to problems his company faced, all because of his support for students.

Under the slogan “Help a brave man from Serbia in his fight for justice,” the diaspora has so far collected over 25,000 US dollars, N1 writes.

Trucker Jaćimović is known to the public for driving students to protests, and he is still suffering consequences because of it. Last week, he was again targeted by bullies, who first slashed the tires of his buses, and then broke his windshield on the day of the protest in Belgrade, to which he was supposed to drive his fellow citizens. He also received numerous fines.

Yesterday, Jaćimović attempted to harm himself in front of the SNS offices in Novi Sad.

An intervention police unit quickly arrived and reacted, breaking the windows of the car in which Jaćimović was, and he was apprehended.

Previously, Milomir’s son was apprehended because he started posting flyers on the SNS premises with photographs of police officers who had obstructed Jaćimović’s work and stopped him on the road while he was transporting students.

Students in Blockade Said: Milomir, We Are With You!

Students in blockade publicly thanked and offered support to the arrested trucker who had been transporting students to protests for months, free of charge.

“When no one wanted to drive, he said, ‘Get in kids, let’s go.’ When blockades, rain, and police zones awaited us – Milomir waited for us. When his tires were cut, when an anonymous voice threatened him from the other end of the line, when his license plates were removed and his vehicle stopped – he did not back down. He did not give up. He continued to drive,” the students wrote.

They told him that he must never harm himself – “not because of them.”

The students emphasized that no man who stood with the students must be left alone, and no person should pay a personal price for a fight that is collective.

They published the account number to which citizens can make donations and help the trucker Jaćimović.
