15 MONTHS SINCE THE TRAGEDY: Students and Citizens of Novi Sad Pay Tribute to Victims at the Train Station with a March!

Citizens gathered at 10:00 a.m. in front of the Freedom Bridge in Novi Sad at the invitation of local students to mark 15 months since the canopy collapse.

At 10:15 a.m., a column of citizens and students set off along the right side of Liberation Boulevard toward the Train Station, where at 11:52 a.m. they will pay tribute to the victims and the recently deceased Novi Sad biker, Kosta Dubljević.

Traffic police are providing security for the event.

As a reminder, exactly one year ago, on the day of Novi Sad’s city holiday, a large protest called “1.2. on 3 bridges!” took place, during which students and citizens blocked all three bridges in Novi Sad for three hours. The Freedom Bridge remained blocked for 27 hours, until February 2, 2025.

This protest is also remembered for being the first time students walked from Belgrade to Novi Sad, launching a series of long-distance walks across Serbia over the past year.
